Personal Finance class final goes "Old School" In a creative twist, Personal Finance teacher Janice Konderik used copies of The Wall Street Journal to test student's knowledge of financial terms and concepts. For several students it was the first time they ever read a newspaper.

Two Metro Arts students were accepted to the Youth Arts and Culture Council. Congratulations to Jahan Rico-Movassaghi and Zoya Page, who were accepted onto the Youth Arts and Culture Council through the City of Phoenix. It’s a civically engaged council of young artists from all arts disciplines who advocate for youth representation in Phoenix.

Carter Lindsay and Trent Sandon win 2nd place in AZ Council on Economic Education "Stock Market Game"! Metro Arts Personal Finance class team of Trent and Carter placed 2nd out of 267 in the High School Region! Metro Arts as a school placed 2nd out of 18 local high schools for best rate of return (2nd place for making the most money overall). Congratulations to Finance teacher Janice Konderik for her excellent instruction that helped her students achieve this honor! On Friday, May 4th, Ms. Konderik and the two student winners will be attending the awards banquet held at the Phoenix Zoo.
Quick resin jewelry workshop for Metro staff After the faculty meeting on Wednesday, April 4th, Betsy Rosenmiller led the staff in a 1 hour workshop on making resin jewelry. We embedded natural materials like tiny branches and flowers, written text and even a little glitter! Ms. Rosenmiller has been making resin jewelry with the Metro student Craft Club and decided to share the process with the staff.
