Two Metro Arts students were accepted to the Youth Arts and Culture Council.

Jahan Rico-Movassaghi and Zoya Page were accepted on to the Youth Arts and Culture Council through the City of Phoenix.. It’s a civically engaged council of young artists from all arts disciplines who advocate for youth representation in Phoenix.

WHAT WE DO 

• Weekly meetings of the YACC collective to review issues relating to arts & culture programs and services for youth. 

• Monthly events to enhance youth participation in arts & culture.

• An annual city-wide gathering of all young Phoenix artists to meet and discussed ways to strengthen communities through arts & culture.

• Presentations to recommend changes in programming and policies at Arts Advocacy Day at the State Capitol, City of  Phoenix Budget Hearing Meetings, Arts Organizations, Social Services facilities, and other spaces youth are affected

• Support Social Media accounts which link all young people to arts and culture events
