Personal Information:
Lisa Starry earned her BFA in Performing Arts from the California Institute for the Arts in 1993. She moved back to Arizona and began teaching dance education in 1995. Lisa taught at South Mountain High School and New School for the Arts before becoming one of the founding teachers at Metropolitan Arts Institute.
Lisa taught in the Dance Department before moving to administration in 2007.
Starry manages school security, property management, non-academic programs, events, marketing, purchasing, staff, student and parent assistance, and school-wide operations. Creates and manages school tours, calendars, venders, website & e-mail notifications, classroom oversight, staff meetings, summer oversight, and next year preparations.
She is the founder/artistic director of the resident professional dance company, Scorpius Dance Theatre. WWW.SCORPIUSDANCE.COM
Lisa is the mother of two children, one of whom graduated from Metro Arts and one who is starting Metro Arts this school year. She enjoys volunteering for community animal organizations and running her non-profit dance company and studio.
