"Matthew Bernknopf is a passionate and experienced science teacher with a career spanning over 13 years in the field of education. Graduating from ASU with a Bachelor of Science degree in animal Behavior and Physiology, he has cultivated a strong academic background in key scientific disciplines such as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
His journey in education has been diverse and enriching, with significant contributions to both formal and informal teaching environments. His deep-seated love for sharing the wonders of science with others has seen him excel in roles at various zoos and aquariums. In particular, he played pivotal roles in the establishment and development of the education departments at acclaimed establishments like Butterfly Wonderland and Odysea Aquarium.
Having worked closely with a wide array of animal species, ranging from delicate insects to formidable crocodilians and awe-inspiring sharks, he possesses a unique hands-on expertise that enriches his teaching style. His ability to bring real-world experiences into the classroom creates engaging and memorable learning opportunities for students.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Matthew is actively involved in community initiatives centered around animal welfare and wildlife conservation. Through volunteering with different animal organizations and engaging in public awareness campaigns, he strives to instill a sense of compassion and stewardship towards the environment.
