Metro student Shelly Ortiz wins 2 awards at the Arizona Student Film Festival Shelly Ortiz won two awards for her short film, "Nearly Acquaintances" at the Arizona Student Film Festival on Saturday, June 1st. She was awarded 3rd place in the "Microshorts" category and also won the "Audience Choice Award". Congratulations Shelly!

11th grade Great Gatsby field trip The Metro Arts 11th graders, with Humanities teacher Tara Ferguson, went to see the new movie based on the book. Several of the students, and Ms. Ferguson, dressed the part for the movie.
