Metro Arts Dance Teacher Nicole Olson choreographs and performs at the Canal Convergence 2018

The Canal Convergence features large scale public art installations that are site specific and often incorporate kinetic movement, color and light. There will also be dance performances, music, poetry, artist talks, workshops and a food garden.

According to the event website "Nicole L Olson will capture audiences with a site-specific sunset performance on both Saturdays of Canal Convergence."

Schedule of dance performances:

Descending Fables | Saturday, Feb. 24, 6–7 p.m.

Presented on the Waterfront walkway by the art installation Globoscope, Descending Fables is about the different ideas of the word “falling.” Starting with “Ring around the Rosie,” six dancers will portray falling in love, falling from play, and falling from other life situations.

Nomad | Saturday, March 3, 6–7 p.m.

Presented along the Marshall Way Bridge, Nomad will conceptually involve elements of time and travel. Starting from man and evolution, the dancers will move their way across the bridge, creating scenarios of movement through time, work, life and relationships.
