The Metro-Arts chapter of the National Honors Society met at Bartlett Lake on Sunday, October 30th for an end-of-the-season beach clean-up. The environmental project was a community-building service project conceived by the NHS members themselves, who organized the event and took initiative in an area of the community where they saw a need they could meet. Each member of the NHS must meet a certain number of service hours, served both as a group project and individually, in order to remain in good standing with the national organization. The next planned group service project is a planned trip to UMOM to read to homeless children.
